The wheel picker is the heart of Choose Fast. This guide covers everything you need to know to get the most out of it.
Spinning the Wheel
The wheel uses true randomness to select a winner:
- Click SPIN - Press the golden button in the center of the wheel
- Watch it spin - The wheel rotates with realistic physics and tick sounds
- See the result - The winner is highlighted at the top with confetti celebration
Each spin takes about 4 seconds and lands on a completely random segment. The longer you wait, the more suspense builds!
Understanding the Modes
The wheel has three viewing modes, accessible via the buttons below the wheel:
View Mode
The default mode for spinning. Shows:
- The wheel with all your options
- The SPIN button
- The winner display area
This is the cleanest interface, perfect for making quick decisions.
Edit Mode
Click the pencil icon to customize your wheel. The edit panel lets you:
- Add items - Type in the input field and press Enter
- Remove items - Click the X next to any item
- Search items - Filter long lists with the search box
- Shuffle - Randomize the order of items
- Clear all - Remove everything and start fresh
Changes are saved to your browser automatically.
Presentation Mode
Click the fullscreen icon for maximum impact. Great for:
- Classroom activities with projectors
- Party games where everyone needs to see
- Live streams and video calls
- Any situation where you need a bigger wheel
Press ESC or click the X button to exit.
The Winner Experience
When the wheel stops, Choose Fast celebrates properly:
- The winning segment aligns with the pointer at the top
- The winner’s name appears above the wheel
- Colorful confetti explodes across the screen
- A satisfying tick sound marks the final position
The winner is automatically moved to the top of the list, so you can easily find it in Edit mode.
Adding Items Efficiently
Here are some tips for building your lists quickly:
Copy-Paste Multiple Items
You can paste a list of items separated by newlines. Each line becomes a separate wheel segment.
Use Emojis
Make your wheel more visual! Add emojis directly in item names:
- “Pizza Night”
- “Movie Marathon”
- “Game Time”
Keep It Readable
For best results:
- Use 3-15 items for optimal visibility
- Keep names short (under 20 characters)
- Avoid very similar options that are hard to read when spinning
Sound Effects
The wheel includes audio feedback:
- Tick sounds - Play as the wheel passes each segment
- Celebration - Victory sound when the wheel stops
Sounds play automatically if your browser allows. For large wheels (20+ items), ticks are reduced to prevent audio overload.
Mobile Experience
Choose Fast works great on phones and tablets:
- Touch-friendly spin button
- Responsive wheel sizing
- Swipe-friendly edit panel
- Fullscreen works on mobile browsers
Sharing Your Wheel
Want to share your custom wheel? Currently you can:
- Take a screenshot of your wheel
- Share the page URL (for pre-made lists)
- Use presentation mode during live sessions

Troubleshooting
Wheel Won’t Spin
- Make sure you have at least 2 items in your list
- Check that JavaScript is enabled in your browser
- Try refreshing the page
No Sound
- Check your device volume
- Some browsers require a user interaction before playing audio
- Try clicking anywhere on the page first
Items Not Saving
- Ensure your browser allows local storage
- Try using a different browser
- Private/incognito mode may not save data
